Creating Users
Types of Users
There are 4 types of users you can create in OpenSpecimen.
Type | Description |
---|---|
Super Administrator | Has access to all the data and operations across all the sites and institutes in the application. |
Institute Administrator | Has access to all the data and operations within all the sites of the institute to which the user is associated. |
Regular User | They have limited access based on their roles within the associated site. |
Contact User | Users who do not log in to the system. For example, nurses, external lab members, etc. |
User fields
The table below outlines all the fields available on the user page.
Creating Regular Users
Administrators, whether they are Super, Institute, or Site level, possess the authority to create users and assign them specific roles. These roles can be tailored for a particular CP or applied across all CPs within a site.
You can create multiple users in one go using the bulk import option. Refer to https://openspecimen.atlassian.net/wiki/x/OgAw for more details
Email notification
An email is sent to the user upon the creation of their account.
Creating Contact Users
Certain users, such as Study Principal Investigators (PIs) and clinic staff, may not need to log into OpenSpecimen. However, it remains essential to document data associated with them for record-keeping and auditing purposes.
To accommodate these users, you can create a 'Contact' user type. It's important to note that these users will not receive any emails.
