Locked Users

Lock / Unlock Users

A user may be locked due to inactivity or exceeding incorrect password entries.

Locked users receive email notifications for relevant actions.

Can reset password via the 'Forget Password' option, and log back in.

Archived Users

Delete / Archive User

Archiving a user is an intentional action by admins when a user no longer needs access.

Archived users do not receive any email notifications for actions performed in OpenSpecimen.

Cannot log in until an admin user within OpenSpecimen unarchives the user.

In both scenarios, it is important to note that the associated data is not lost, and locked or archived users cannot access OpenSpecimen.
