Locked v/s Archive User
User Status | Description | Email Notifications | Regaining Access |
---|---|---|---|
Locked Users | A user may be locked due to inactivity or exceeding incorrect password entries. | Locked users receive email notifications for relevant actions. | Can reset password via the 'Forget Password' option, and log back in. |
Archived Users | Archiving a user is an intentional action by admins when a user no longer needs access. | Archived users do not receive any email notifications for actions performed in OpenSpecimen. | Cannot log in until an admin user within OpenSpecimen unarchives the user. |
In both scenarios, it is important to note that the associated data is not lost, and locked or archived users cannot access OpenSpecimen.
