How to swap the position of two samples, or move samples around in a box?

Sometimes, while storing samples in bulk, the sample night get stored in the incorrect positions. TO store the samples in the correct position, the samples can be swapped, or they can be moved within the box. For example, suppose there are two samples ‘AHKPD1’ and ‘AHKPD2’ stored at incorrect positions (A,4) and (A,3) respectively in a box. The below-mentioned steps can be followed to store the specimens in the correct position, i.e ‘AHKPD1’ at (A,3) position and ‘AHKPD2’ at (A,4).

  • Navigate to the box where you wish to move the specimens.

  • Click on the ‘store specimens’ tab.

  • Enter the new container positions as mentioned below in the store specimen text box and select the ‘Vacate Existing Specimens’ option.

  • Click on the tab ‘Store’ → A pop-up box with a warning that the locations already have specimens will open. → Click on yes to swap the position.

  • The samples would now be stored in the correct position.

  • Similarly, other positions can be mentioned in the store specimen box to move the samples within the box.
