Collection Protocol Groups (CPGs)
The Collection Protocol Group (CPG) helps streamline the management of multiple Collection Protocols (CPs) that share identical configurations. E.g., multiple CPs of one group could be utilizing the same workflows, forms, JSON, etc. By associating configurations at the CPG level, administrators can maintain consistency across the entire site without redundant manual updates.
The other advantage of the CPG is the ability to perform cross-CP queries on custom forms.
NOTE: One CP can be attached to ONLY one CPG.
Reason: A CPG can have its own forms & workflows. So the system can't determine which to use if CP is associated with multiple CPGs.
Privileges
Anyone with CP add/edit can also create CPGs.
Create
Edit
You can edit the name of the collection protocol group and the collection protocols it contains.
Add JSON
You can add the JSON workflow to a group to customize the data entry screens. It will apply to all the protocols in the group. More information on JSON configuration: Customize Screens
Add Forms
You can add forms to the participant, visit, and specimen levels, or add them as custom fields, to all protocols in the group.
Remove CPs
Delete CPG
The collection protocol groups no longer in use can be deleted from the system. It does not affect the individual collection protocols in the group. Any saved queries associated with the CPG are deleted.
Enhanced Collection Protocol Group (CPG) (v13.0)
With multiple clients using CPGs to attach forms, manage JSON workflows, specimen kits, etc. we have upgraded the CPG UI to improve usability.
