Set Default Catalog/Dashboard

Any public specimen catalog can be designated as the 'Default Catalog,' which will be displayed upon accessing the OpenSpecimen login page.

To set a default catalog/dashboard, please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Navigate to 'Settings'.

2. Click on the 'Default Catalog' property from the 'Catalog' settings module.

3. The catalog identifier can be found in the URL as shown in the below screenshot, 1 is identifier for this catalog

4. Add the catalog's identifier to be set as the default catalog under the 'New Value' field and click on the 'Update' button.

5. If the catalog has ‘Dashboard’ selected for ‘Display’ then the dashboard page will be shown when any user accesses the OpenSpecimen URL. This page shows all the dashlets configured in the dashboard under the specimen catalog.

6. If the catalog does not have ‘Dashboard’ selected for ‘Display,’ the login page will present the specimen catalog whenever any user accesses the OpenSpecimen URL.

7. If there is no ID defined in the settings, then the login page will be shown to enter username and password. No catalog or dashboard will be shown.
