What is the Notes field?

The Notes field displays information on custom forms. It does not collect data from users.

Use the Notes field to show instructions or information while users fill out a form. The field supports HTML formatting, which allows it to display formatted text between data entry fields.

You can use HTML tags to format the text in this field. This allows you to add bold text, bullet points, and colors. If you do not know HTML, you can use an online tool such as HTML Online Editor to format your text.

Formatting Rules for Form Fields

HTML formatting is supported only in the Notes field.
From version 11.x onward, users cannot add HTML code to the field caption (Display Name). For the technical reasons behind this restriction, please refer to this wiki page.

Enable HTML Markup Settings

As a super admin, ensure that this setting is enabled.

How to Create a Notes Field in a Form

Go to the Forms tab. Click + Create, enter the Title, and click Submit. Click + Add Field, select Notes, and enter a Name. Enter your HTML code into the Note section. Click Preview to view the form. The note will appear on the screen. Attach the form to a Collection Protocol (CP) to display the note on the active form data entry.
