Keyword/Global Search

 

The quick search feature in OpenSpecimen has been transformed into a user-friendly, ‘Google-like’ search experience. Users can now search using various keywords, including specimen labels, barcodes, participant PPIDs, names, CP titles, shipment titles, and more. The displayed records are tailored according to the user's access privileges.

Note: Currently, this feature does not support custom fields.

How to search?

  • Click the search box at the top of the screen.

  • Type the first few characters of what you are looking for.

  • Keep typing until the record you are looking for is displayed.

  • Once found, click on the record to navigate to that record.

Restrict the search

You can search for the best or exact match. You can add the record type (name) prefix to the search string to filter out the unwanted matches.

Note: When you are using this feature, make sure you search for the attributes using the 'Starts with' logic.
Example: If you are searching for an institute, 'Test OpenSpecimen Institute', start typing as 'institute: Test' and not the other way around.
