Services and Project Users

A “Service” is any activity that a biobank performs for its client. Examples of services include, but are not limited to, pulling required specimens from inventory, extracting DNA/RNA, preparing tissue blocks, performing QC checks, and aliquoting specimens. To start using Project Tracker, you first need to add services to the “Site”. Here, “Site” is defined as the place (i.e., Biobank) that provides services to the researcher. Next, you will have to assign “Project users” within the service-providing site. Project users are the project administrators who can add/edit projects. Multiple services and project users can be assigned to a site.

Currently, the user must have a Super Admin or Institute Admin role to create/edit services and add/remove project users.

  • Go to the site to which you want to add the services.

  • Click on the 'Services' tab present on the left-hand side and click on '+Create'.

  • Add the name of the service, and give a description.

  • To edit a service, click the edit icon next to the service.

  • Go to the site where you want to add the project users.

  • Click on the 'Project Users' tab present on the left-hand side and click on '+Add'.
