Undo Distribution (v9.0)

Introduction

When researchers send in requests, you might wrongly distribute a few specimens or miss a few details. This feature lets you delete the wrongly distributed specimens within an order or delete the whole order and store the specimens back in the storage location.

Pre-requisite

Users with order delete rights can perform this action.

Delete Complete order

  • Navigate to 'Order' → Select the order you want to delete.

  • Click on the 'Delete' button:

  • Navigate to 'Order' → Select the order from which you want to delete specimens.

  • Go to the 'Specimens' tab.

  • Select the specimens and click on 'Delete':

  • Click on the ‘Yes’ tab in the delete confirmation pop window.

What happens when an order or specimens within the order are deleted?

  • When a complete order is deleted, emails are sent to the distributor, requestor/PI, and coordinators of distribution protocol, as mentioned below.

  • Upon specimen deletion within an order, emails with deleted specimen details are sent to the distributor, requestor/PI, and distribution protocol coordinators.

  • Upon deletion, distribution and return events are removed from the specimens except for the disposal event.

  • The specimen status changes to available.

  • Users can either use the sample for further processing or edit it.

  • Users can check the transfer event to allocate the initial storage location manually.

What happens to catalog requests and specimen statuses when an order is deleted?

The specimens within a request are marked as ‘Pending', and the request status changes to 'Approved’.
