Introduction

This feature will let OpenSpecimen automatically suggest a box for sample storage. 

Setting up auto allocation

The administrator has to set up the auto-allocation strategy at the CP level.

 Click to know the steps


  • Go to the collection protocol overview page, click on 'Settings'→'Container' and click 'Edit.' 

  • Click  on 'Edit', choose any option for auto allocation, and click 'Save.' 


Auto allocation strategy

There are two allocation strategies available:

  1. Least empty container: This will let the user to back fill a container with empty spaces that was initially full.
  2. Recently Used Container: This will let the user to keep adding samples to recently used boxes and moving forward. 
  3. Store Aliquots in the same box: All aliquots being created at once under a parent are stored under the same box.
