Abbreviations can be set for many dropdown values which can be used for auto-generating specimen labels. For more information on label auto generation, refer to Labels Configuration.
Below are the fields for which abbreviations can be set:
- Specimen Type
- Pathological Status
- Clinical Status
To change the default abbreviations, ‘Dropdown Manager’ plugin can be used by enterprise adopters. Only super admins can modify these values:
Go to home page
Click on ‘Extras’ card
Click on ‘Dropdown Manager’ card
Click on ‘Specimen Type’
Click on any of the dropdown value
Click on ‘Edit’ button
Add ‘abbreviation’ under property name field and add the abbreviation value and click on ‘Update’
Community users need to modify abbreviations in catissue_permissible_value database table.
System sets below default abbreviations, super admins can change it:

By default, there are no abbreviations set for clinical status, but it can be set using above steps.
