This page contains different actions that can be performed with forms like export, import, delete, etc.

Export

You can export the form XML from OpenSpecimen by clicking the download button present beside the form.

Import

Once the form is exported, you can import the same form as it is on any instance of OpenSpecimen by clicking the 'Import' button from the forms list view page.

  1. If the form is being edited, import the updated XML/ZIP. This will overwrite the form with the new changes from the imported file.

  2. If you want to create a clone of the previous form, you can export the form → Change the form name in XML → Import the updated XML.

Delete

You can delete one or more forms if you do not capture any data using those forms anymore.

Delete a single form

To delete a single form, click on the delete button present beside the form.

Delete multiple forms

To delete multiple forms, select the forms and click on the “Delete“ button.

The delete button will only appear when you select one or more forms.

All updates are captured in the "Revisions" table. E.g., edit field, moving fields, etc.

  • Create a form. Refer to the wiki page for detailed steps to create a form.

  • Make changes in the form. E.g., add/remove fields, etc.

  • Click on the 'Revisions' icon from the forms list view page.

  • It will display ‘Updated On' and 'Updated By’ fields.

Preview Older Versions

To view an older version, click on the eye icon beside the version.

Download Revision Definition

To download the older version’s XML, click on the download icon. The form definition will be downloaded in ZIP format.

Form Association Audit Tracking

All updates to form association are captured in the "Revisions". E.g., delete/add attachment, etc.

To check the past associations,

  • Click on the spanner icon.

  • Click on 'Revisions'.
