How to query for collection and received details for child specimens?

The collection and received event details are only available for the primary specimens and not for child specimens. Many users need to refer to the parent specimens date when querying for the child samples. A form ‘Collection & Received Details’ is created that populates data from the collection and received event and is available for all lineages.

The data for this form is refreshed from by the job ‘Scheduler to refresh Specimen additional details’ that runs daily.

Using the query module, the data for these fields can be populated for the child specimens by following the below steps:

  1. Navigate to the query module → Create

  2. Use the appropriate operators for the “Collection and Received Details” fields, as shown below. Link for the sample query.

3. This will provide the data for fields such as collector, receiver, received date, collection date, collection container etc. at child specimen level.

4. The data for these fields gets updated automatically for every lineage of the specimen after the jobs get completed.

5. If the data for these fields is not visible, then the user needs to check if the system-level jobs are getting completed. For more details, refer to the wiki page.
