This feature will help users to link CP with any DPs that they would like to distribute samples under. This is useful in cases that ur wants to reserve samples for specific sites/ investigators on a routine basis. Following this, the user does not need to add samples to the cart and distribute them using separate features which will prevent samples from being distributed to random DPs. By linking CP with DP, users will be able to:

1. Reserve/categorize samples for a set of already established projects

2. Quickly distribute samples without following extra steps

The steps below represent how to link CP with any DPs:

1. In order to distribute samples directly using a unique distribution protocol, super admin needs to create that distribution protocol using 'Distribution Protocol'.

2. Once data has been entered and DP has been created, click on collection protocol of interest to view details. Select 'Settings' and click on ' Distribution Protocol Settings'.

3. Click on '+ Distribution Protocol' and select DP of interest from the drop down menu to be added to the CP. User can add multiple DPs at this level by clicking on '+Distribution Protocol'.

4. Once the CP-DP has been set up, user should be able to distribute samples by selecting that DP under the settings.

NOTE: If the DP being selected at the time of distribution does not match the CP-DP set up, an error will display to prevent the system from distributing samples. This will happen disregard of what method the user applies to select specimens including, direct distribution or query interface. To avoid this, the DP that specimens are being distributed to should be same as the one selected under the CP settings.

e.g. If the user has selected DP1 under CP1 settings, the system will not allow the user to distribute CP1 samples under DP2.
