Introduction
OpenSpecimen allows users to personalize the Home page with “quick access” widgets for a more efficient and streamlined experience.
Advantages of setting up Widgets:
Only see the cards that user mostly worked on
Easy to search within the home page itself
Easy to navigate
Mark important items (Collection Protocol, Container, Queries etc) as star ★, so those will be displayed on top

How to customize home screen
In version 11 and beyond, we have updated the default Home Page View to enhance user experience.
Instead of the old card-based view, the home page now automatically displays the module that you use most frequently.
For new and existing users who haven't previously selected widgets, you'll need to do a one-time setup to customize your home page. Once configured, your preferences will be saved and applied every time you log in.
Add/Remove Widgets
To add widgets, click on the 'Widget' button present in the top-right corner
Uncheck or check the checkboxes to add/remove the required widget.
From v11.x - New/Existing Users - Who has not selected the Widgets erlier, they will have to select to see the customize home page. This is one time setup, and will be remebred everytime that users logged in.
Supported Widgets
Increase/Decrease the Width of the Widgets
Click on the 'Widget' button present in the top-right corner.
Click on the 'Width' dropdown and select any width you want from the available range.
Expand Widget
Users can expand the widget by clicking on the expand icon.
Click on the 'Expand' button present in the top-right corner of each individual widgets.
Rearrange Widgets
Users have the ability to rearrange widgets, ensuring that the most frequently used modules are positioned at the top.
Search
You can search for your required CPs, carts, queries, and so on from the home page itself within the widget.
Click the search icon next to the particular widget and type in the name.
Favourites
Users have the option to set favorites by 'starring' titles of each module. This ensures that the favored items appear at the very top of the lists, making them readily accessible.
