OpenSpecimen allows users to add existing participants to another protocol. You can use any of the below fields to uniquely identify a participant:

  1. eMPI

  2. MRN + MRN site

  3. SSN.

Info

Notes:

  • PPID is de-identified patient identifier within a collection protocol, and thus it does not uniquely identify a participant across the system.

  • Previously, collected visits and specimen data will not be automatically moved after adding the participants to another protocol.

  • While importing visits and specimens, you will continue to use CP short title and PPID to import specimen data under right collection protocol.

E.g., Register a participant having eMPI 110231‘110231’ (already present in CP ‘Skin Cancer Study’) to another CP ‘Lung Cancer Research Study1’.
