Mandatory?

(Create)

DescriptionPermissible ValuesValidations
CP Short TitleStringDependsThe collection protocol is a short title under which specimens must be created.
This is mandatory only if specimen labels are not unique across collection protocols i.e. if 'Unique Specimen Label per CP' system setting is enabled.
Parent Specimen LabelStringYesThe specimen label of the parent specimen under which the aliquot is to be created.
The specimen should exist within the system
Specimen labelStringDependsThe label of the specimen.

It should be unique within the system or CP, depending on the system setting.

Mandatory when the auto label generation is OFF OR 'Manual Input' is set to 'Yes.'

Specimen BarcodeStringDepends

It should be unique within the system.

Depending on the CP settings. If the barcode is enabled, auto-label generation for aliquots is mandatory.

In the case of manual input, the barcode field is disabled.

Quantity per AliquotDouble

Yes, if the parent quantity is not specified or the number of aliquots is not specified.

If not specified, it divides the entire parent specimen available quantity into equal amounts amongst all the aliquots
Number of AliquotsIntegerYes, if parent quantity is not specified or quantity per aliquot is not specified.A numberr of aliquots to be created.

When left blank, the number of aliquots=(parent quantity/quantity per aliquot)

If the manual input is set to yes for specimen labels, then this field is disabled. The number of rows with data equals the number of aliquots generated.

ContainerStringNo

It needs to be specified if the specimen is not virtually located

Note: If the container has few empty spaces left and aliquots are more in number. Then, create two separate rows with each container name and the number of aliquots to be stored.

  1. The container specified should exist.
  2. Suitable to hold the specimen (based on type and protocol)
  3. Should have available positions.
  4. The specimen gets stored at the next available position within the container.
Start RowString or IntegerNoDatatype depending on the row labeling scheme (Numbers, Alphabets Upper Case, Alphabet Lower Case, Roman Upper Case, Roman Lower Case)
Position within the container at which the specimen is to be stored. If left blank, the system will allocate the next available position.
Start ColumnString or IntegerNoDatatype depending on the column labeling scheme (Numbers, Alphabets Upper Case, Alphabet Lower Case, Roman Upper Case, Roman Lower Case)
Start PositionNumberNoThe single number or linear position labels to identify slots within the container for storing specimen
