This downloads a XML file or a ZIP file (containing XML and CSV files).

Importing a form

Once the form is exported, you can import the same form as it is on any instance of OpenSpecimen by clicking 'Import' button from the forms summary page

Export from one instance and import to the other instance...
 1. Go to forms list page
 2. Click on 'Create' button
 3. Click on Import and upload the form XML or a Zip file.

 4. Once uploaded, save the form
 5. Go back to the forms dashboard and attach the form to collection protocols at the desired level.

If the form is being edited, open the existing form to edit and import the updated XML/ZIP. This should overwrite the form with the new changes from the imported file.

Export and import to the same instance...

Sometimes user wants to create a new form with fields from a pre-existing form and some new fields. In this case, instead of creating the same fields again, below steps can be used to clone the form.

 1. Export the form
 2. Extract the exported custom form ZIP file and open the form XML in the text editor.
 3. Change the '
and
CBC Data
' of the form and save the XML file.
 4. If the extracted ZIP contains 'pvs' folder, then create a ZIP of the XML file and 'pvs' folder together.
 5. Import this newly created ZIP into the system.
 6. Add the new fields you want and save the form.
