Enable Site Based Participant Access

Introduction

In OpenSpecimen, for a multi-site CP, the participants can be registered on multiple sites. By default, all participants within a protocol are displayed for all the users having access to the CP. There are some cases where it's required to restrict the participant's access for other users based on the registration site. In this case, the users will be able to access information for only those participants which have a registration site similar to their site of access.

Pre-requisites

  1. CP should be linked to all the sites.

  2. The user should have access to the specific site.

Registering participants to different sites

  • Create a multi-site CP

  • Register participants on multiple sites.

  • If the 'Site based Participant Access' is enabled then the user with access to even one of these sites can see a participant registered with the other site.

  • If the 'Site based Participant Access' is disabled, then the user can view all the participants

Steps to be followed

  • Log in as a Super Admin

  • Navigate to settings →  Biospecimen tab → 'Site based Participant Access'

  •  Click on 'Enabled'.

  1. You can search 'Site based Participant Access' in the 'Search' bar in the setting.

  2. Once this setting is enabled, it is applicable for all protocols.

For the CP with JSON configuration, changes in JSON are required. Please refer to the wiki page for more details.
