Max. Container Capacity (v12.2 and above)

To prevent performance issues caused by creating extremely large storage containers (for example, grids of 1000 x 1000 positions), a new system setting called Max. Container Capacity has been introduced starting from version 12.2.

This setting determines the maximum number of positions (slots) that a container is allowed to have.

If you exceed the limit, you will receive an error:

Container F2 capacity 300 exceeds the allowed limit of 225

Default Behavior

  • If the setting is not configured, the system uses a default limit of 225 positions.

  • The limit applies when:

    • Creating new containers

    • Editing existing containers

Workaround

If you are looking to store a large number of specimens like ‘FFPE Blocks’ in a particular container, which are usually stored in room-temperature containers, you can create a dimensionless container and store as many specimens as you want.

Refer to this wiki-page for steps to create ‘Dimensionless Containers
