How to Retain Data When Deleting Form Field?

If a user wants to create a new form field by deleting an existing one, they can retain the data from the old field and transfer the same records to the new field.

Export records from the old form using Export Form Records.
Create a new field as required.
Modify the exported file so headers match the new form’s field/s.
Import the data into the new field.
Delete the old field from the form.

If the new field has the same caption as the old field, delete the old field first, then import data into the new one.
