No, it is not currently possible to add conditional values based on string fields. You can only calculate based on integers and dates (Reference: https://openspecimen.atlassian.net/wiki/x/MwBLB).

For example, suppose you want to create a column “Specimen Received: Yes/No.” Instead, you can use the Query module and apply the Specimen Count function to show how many specimens have been collected, pending, or missed for each participant. This serves as a workaround to capture the same information without using conditional fields.
