Edit Containers

If you want to repurpose a container to store specimens that it was initially restricted to storing, you can achieve this by editing the ‘Containers’.

Example: The container FM802R1B1 was initially created to store ‘Cerebrospinal Fluid’ and ‘Whole Blood’, but now you want to store ‘Plasma’ and ‘Serum’ specimens as well, you can edit the container to update the restrictions.

Expand below to see the steps:

  1. Navigate to the desired container by searching for the container in the ‘Global Search’.

  3. Scroll towards the bottom, and find the ‘Specimen Type’ dropdown field, and select the required specimen type for which you want to allow store specimens.

If the dropdown appears blank, the restrictions are likely set at the parent container level. Check if type restrictions are defined there.
If not, keep checking up the hierarchy until you find the top-most container with the restrictions.

Please note: Changes at a parent level apply to all child containers unless the child level restrictions have been updated individually.
