Use Case: User collected ‘Frozen Cell Block’ instead of ‘Frozen Tissue Block’.

Fix: Using bulk import update the specimen to map to the correct specimen requirement.

Steps to move the specimens

  1. Take backup

  • Create a query to identify the specimens that need to be updated.

  • Export and keep a backup of the data.

  1. Export specimens

  • Go to Participant List Page → More → Export

  • Select Record Type as Specimen

  • Add the specimen labels

  • Export the file.

  • Move the specimens from Feces to Stool requirement via import

  • Open the exported CSV file.

  • In the file, you can change the details if needed (quantity, label, path status etc), else the same values will be retained.

  • If the labels are autogenerated by the system, then you need to temporarily enable ‘User Inputs Allowed’ for ‘Specimen Labels’

  • To move the specimen to the correct requirement, you need to change the requirement code, specimen class, type, and specimen label (if autogenerated).

  • Import the file as update

  • Once the file is uploaded, the specimen will be moved to the correct requirement.
