Why does auto-allocation block positions?

After the user has set up the auto allocation, the positions are auto-suggested in the ‘Location' column. These positions are blocked to prevent users from storing other specimens in the same spots.

The container overview page shows these positions are 'Blocked for auto allocation’.These positions stay blocked until the user clicks 'Cancel' or 'Submit' on the collection page, for up to 5 minutes allowing the user sufficient time to complete data entry.
