v12.1 Release Notes
Introduction
We’re excited to announce that OpenSpecimen v12.1 is now available for download!
This release primarily focuses on usability improvements, bug fixes reported by customers, and major enhancements to the Specimen Kits module and printing. We have addressed several usability issues from v11.x, ensuring a smoother experience while introducing key upgrades for better specimen tracking and management.

New UI Changes
The older technology AngularJs has been replaced with VueJs for all the modules.

Biospecimen Module
All date fields will now display a date format to help users enter dates in the correct format.
Reimport option on the imports jobs page, which takes the user back to the import page with everything pre-selected.
Reporting Module

The reason field in the disposal event has been changed to a dropdown for users to query easily.
On selecting a Collection Protocol Group (CPG) in the 'Select a Collection Protocol' field in the query, the form attached collection protocol custom fields are visible for querying.
“Add Dashlets” button re-introduce in query module.
Specimen Kits (Supplies Module)

Improved Usability for specimen kits
Support to operate specimen kits from within the collection protocol (CP)
Separate tabs for kit shipment, Used and Available Kits from within the CP
Per protocol-based support for Low Quantity/ Kit Expiration Alerts
Mandatory event selection while creating kits to prevent the generation of unwanted kits
Print Rules

New features:
Import/Export print rules for easier updates/movements across environments
Order of execution, giving admins the ability to prioritize print rules per local needs
List view enhancement allowing easier search
Print rule added as a resource in the role and made available outside extras, allowing non-super admins to manage print rules
