Print Rule Management

Starting from v12.1, print rule management has been simplified based on feedback from previous versions. Key improvements include retaining other useful features:

Support for export and import of print rules.
Filtering of print rules by description for easier management.
Addition of print rule ID to help identify which rule triggered label generation.
Sorting of command files based on print rules for better organization.

These enhancements address the most common requests from users in earlier versions.

Allow Print Rule Management for Non-Superadmin Users

Earlier, editing print rules was restricted to superadmin users, since changes affected all users and required centralized control. However, with the rise of multi-site studies and multiple printing servers, centralized management has become impractical.

To address this, from v12.1, we introduced a dedicated ‘Print Rules’ privilege that allows each site to manage its print rules independently.

With these permissions, super admins can provide access to individual site admins/ CP owners to manage print rules.
