Choice of Label Design

Each print file generated by OpenSpecimen is designed to be processed by third-party printing software such as BarTender, NiceLabel, CodeSoft, Brady, etc. These printing tools support a variety of label formats based on local requirements.

For example, tissue and fluid specimens may require different label designs, as might kit labels versus specimen labels.

OpenSpecimen includes the necessary label type information within the generated print file, enabling the printing software to select and apply the appropriate label template automatically. The values of Label Type and Label Design can be configured per print rule.
