To create supplies, you have to first create a 'supply type'. A supply type indicates the type of kit or consumable. E.g. "Pre-surgery kit", gloves, etc. Only super-administrators or users with create supplies privilege can manage supply types.

Supplies can be of the following types:

Barcoded: E.g. kits, pre-barcoded tubes, etc.
Non barcoded: E.g. vials, gloves, etc.

Create Supply Type

To create a supply type:

Click 'Create' button on the supplies page
Enter necessary details and click create

Field Title	Mandatory?	Description

Field Title	Mandatory?	Description
Name	Yes	Name of the supply type e.g. 10 ml test tube.
Has barcoded items?	Yes	Specify whether the supply will have barcoded or non-barcoded items.
Vendor	No	Can be selected from already created vendor types or added using 'Add New' button.
Collection Protocol	No	Specify if supply type is to be restricted to a specific collection protocol.
Expiry reminder interval	No	Can be specified to receive notifications for the supplies expiry. E.g. if the interval is set to 2 days, notifications will be sent to the user 2 days before the expiry date.
Low quantity threshold	No	Can be specified to receive notification for low quantity of supplies. E.g. if the low quantity threshold is set to 10, notification will be sent to the user when the supply quantity reduces to 10.
Notification Recipients	No	Users to whom the email notifications should be sent.

Edit Supply Type

To edit a supply type:

Click the edit icon next to the supply type
Make necessary changes and click update
Changes made to the supply type are visible only in newly created supplies and do not affect the old supplies.

Delete Supply Type

Deleting a supply type is not supported currently.

Import Supply Type

You can create/update supplies using bulk import. For more details refer to a wiki page.

Export Supply Type

You can export all the supply types by using the 'Export' option from the 'Types' list view.

Email Notifications

Email notifications are sent for low quantity threshold and expiry date based on the settings in each supply type.
