Dispose Specimen in Workflow Batch
Occasionally, after receiving a specimen or creating multiple aliquots, a tube may become damaged or break due to accidental falls or sample spills. Consequently, you may need to remove the affected specimens from the batch and designate them as disposed or closed. With the release of version 10.1, disposing of specimens from a batch has become a streamlined process.
Steps to dispose a specimens
The 'Dispose Specimen' will be available in the 'Remove Specimen' popup. This will allow you to remove the specimens using the 'x' icon, add a reason for removing the specimen, and also dispose of the specimens on the same screen as shown below:
The ‘Dispose Specimen' checkbox will only appear if you select ‘Skip all remaining tasks’ in the 'Skip Mode.’
The deviation reason that you enter will be displayed in the ‘Disposal Event' as well as in the 'Deviation Event’ from the specimen overview page:
