Pre-print labels in bulk before collection

The specimen labels are printed in advance in the required format at many sites, packaged into kits, and dispatched to the collection sites. These high throughput sites like to keep a stock of the printed and consumed labels (kits).

The generated labels can be used to identify/track specimens of any participant. You can use it as specimen barcodes or labels.

Prerequisites

Label Format and Print Settings

  1. None of the tokens related to the registration record like PPI, PPI_UID, etc., can be used.

  2. EVAL token with references to the custom fields cannot be used.

  3. To use the %PSPEC_UID% and related tokens, the CP setting, Label Sequence Key, should be set to “Record Names/Labels”. Since records are not created, IDs cannot be used for tracking. Therefore the names/labels should be used for tracking the sequences.

4. Configure specimen print settings:

Supply Settings

  1. Navigate to the CP overview page.

  2. Click on 'Settings' → Supply

  3. Set the supply setting for your CP as follows:

Are supply barcodes used in specimens?
