Specimen Transfer and Edit Transfer Details

 

Note: Transfer Event CSV support is added from v12.2.RC4

Transfer Existing Specimens: Use the Specimen CSV template to move samples to a new location. This automatically creates a new Transfer Event.

Update Transfer Details: Use the Transfer Event CSV template to edit information (like date or user) for transfers that have already occurred.

1. Transfer Specimens (Create New Transfer Event)

Use the Specimen CSV template to move samples from their current location to a new one. This automatically creates a new "Transfer Event" in the system.

Required fields :

  • CP Short Title: The Study Name.

  • Specimen Label: The ID of the sample you are moving.

  • Location#Container : The name and position of the new container.

  • Transfer User#Email Address: The person performing the move.

  • Transfer Time & Reason: When it happened and any specific notes.

Steps:

  1. Download template: Refer to this wiki-page

  1. Go to Participant List page → More → Import Biospecimen Data(csv)→
    Record Type = “Specimen” → Operation “Update” → Validate and Import

2. Edit Transfer Details (Update Existing Event)

Use the Transfer Event CSV template if the specimen has already been moved in the system, but you need to update the details of that specific event.

Fields supports update:

  • User#Email Address: Who moved the specimen

  • Date and Time: it was moved (Date)

  • Comments: Why it was moved/notes

Steps:

  1. Download template:

  1. Go to CP List page → More → Import Biospecimen Data (CSV) →
    Record Type = “Transfer Event” → Validate and Import
