A dimensionless container is a container with no fixed size or dimensions. This is useful for creating site-specific temporary "hold" freezers or automated freezers.
Create a dimensionless container type (v10.3)
From v10.3 onwards, you can create dimensionless container types that can be used to create containers and in container auto-allocation strategy
Navigate to ‘Containers’ Click on 'Types' and then click 'Create.' Enter data in the fields, select option 'Yes' for the field ‘Dimensionless?’ Click on the ‘Create’ button
|
Create dimensionless container
Go to the containers list page, click on the ‘Create’ button Enter all necessary details, select option 'Yes' for the field ‘Dimensionless?’ and click on the ‘Create’ button
The map view for the dimensionless container is not available as it does not have any fixed size

Create dimensionless containers via CSV import
You can create the dimensionless container in bulk through bulk operation. Refer ‘Create/Update Storage containers’ for more details.
Creating sized containers under dimensionless containers (new in v4.3)
You can also create a dimensionless freezer with normal racks, shelves, or boxes. This is useful for creating temporary hold freezers where you store boxes for pickup.
Go to create a container page Select the dimensionless container from the 'Parent Container's' dropdown. Enter all valid values and click on "Create."
Similarly, you can create a dimensionless container under any sized container; select the sized container from the 'Parent Container drop-down. Site of the new storage container and the parent container should be common to see the storage container in the dropdown |

Associate a dimensionless container with dimensionless container type
From v10.3 it's possible to associate dimensionless container types with dimensionless containers, so their use can facilitate in auto allocation and reporting. Refer to this wiki page for using these containers for advanced auto allocation.
Go to the containers list page. Select the dimensionless container you wish to associate and click on edit Select the required dimensionless container type in the 'Type Field' Click on Update
