1.        What is the difference between aliquot and derivatives?

When a sample is divided into smaller portions which are similar in characteristics with the parent, they are called aliquots.

2.       Is aliquot the lowest level of specimen, and can’t have any derived specimen from it?

3.       If we have a tissue which will have RNA, DNA and protein from it.  Then the tissue has to be a derivative or parent specimen, right?

4.       Can aliquot has different information such as tissue specimen review information from their parents?

5.       If our final tissue specimen must be able to differentiate between the individual pieces of the tissue generated from the parent specimen, then the final tissue specimen can’t be aliquot, right?
